Ranges of the Solo Vocal Parts

This page gives the range for each of Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji’s solo vocal parts. In other words, the choral parts in the Symphony [no. 1] for Piano, Large Orchestra, Chorus, and Organ (1921-22; 300 pp.), the Symphony [no. 2], “Jāmī”, for Large Orchestra, Wordless Chorus, and Baritone Solo (1942-51; 826 pp.), and the Messa grande sinfonica (1955-61; 1,001 pp.) are not included; however, the range of the solo baritone part of the Symphony [no. 2], “Jāmī” is shown.

Pitches are notated from C0 to C8, with middle C being C4.

Pitch notation

Due to technical limitations, notes with flat signs sort after notes without.
